Processing information. Overloading inputs. A bigger amount fitting into a smaller space. Our capacity expanding, but causing our 'real' brain to shrink. Emotional intelligence suffering at the hands of over-consumption of information sharing. Rendering the old adage 'knowledge is power', redundant. Choosing to opt out renders ordinary lives much harder as every part of life is 'online' or controlled by mass media. This would only serve to make us isolated, out of touch with reality.

This ("Filling all our heads" ) is what shackles us to the 'producer/consumer' dominant culture. All of the major media moguls know this and this is why they have always fought so hard for control, often believing themselves omnipotent, and losing all grip on an emotional reality.
